Co-design of the our Digital Village Activity Kit and Evaluation Tools

Our Digital Village aims to create educational materials through a co-design process, which are adaptable to different educational and geographical contexts aiming to strengthen the digital and transversal skills of teachers, trainers and learners, while developing dedicated tools to evaluate and monitor skits quality and transferability during the testing phase. The outcomes of the codesign process between RMA experts, ICT experts, teachers and trainers in rural areas, will be an interactive online and printable tool – the Our Digital Village Activity Kit, including practical ICT activities in the form of ICT challenges and pedagogical guidelines for the implementation of those activities in class.

Through co-design, it ensures that the developed materials will correspond to the needs, desires and ideas identified during the self-analysis process, but also to the national curriculum requirements or national policies or guidelines by asking the direct input of teachers and trainers in each country.

The activity kit is addressed to teachers and trainers in formal and non-formal education and will include 4 sections:

  • introductory part that underlines the importance of digital skills in the contemporary digitalised world, and the importance of the acquisition of digital and transversal skills for teachers/trainers to make teaching more interactive and engaging
  • a pool of min 50 activities presented as ICT challenges using digital and creative technologies and computing such as Robotics, Coding, Microcontrollers, 3D modeling and printing, and web-development. The ICT challenges contains different activities for a certain theme or digital competence, which increasing levels of difficulty which will make the activities interesting and stimulating for different levels and ages.
  • general pedagogical guidelines to support teachers and trainers to implement the activities based on the local needs, desires and context
  • extra resources for more self-study

An evaluation toolkit, aims also to evaluate the quality, effectiveness and relevance of the activities, and processes  through specific measures and tools aiming at monitoring and evaluating the quality, effectiveness and relevance of the activities and results.
