Bridging Europe's Digital Divide
Digital skills are shaping our world, yet the #digitaldivide within the EU still persists, highlighting the need for continuous efforts in fostering digital skills and education. In 2021, only 26% of EU residents aged 16โ74 possessed above-basic digital skills. A higher share was recorded for people living in cities (33%), 24% of people living in towns and suburbs, and 20% of people living in rural areas had above-basic digital skills.
Bridging the digital skills gap is a collective effort. #OurDigitalVillage aims to foster the development of digital skills and transversal skills, and making digital education #accessible and #inclusive, specifically in rural areas.
